Learning to drive

 

All driving lessons are tailored to the individuals requirements. Your instructor will discuss with you your best options for driving lessons. They will book lessons in for you at a time suitable to both parties. However on the first driving lesson it's impossible for your instructor to tell you how long it's going to take to learn to drive everybody is an individual.

 

Progress Logbook

 

Drivetime has developed a personalised progress book. The progress book will ensure that your instructor has a quick reference to assist in selecting areas of your driving on which to focus. The progress book also helps you to see how you are progressing. Your progress book will cover the full criteria required by the DVSA to get to the standard to pass your driving test

 

Refresher Courses and Electric Vehicle Training

 

An ideal course for those who may not have driven for some time since passing the Practical Test or for those who have passed the Practical Test and would like to be refreshed in certain areas e.g. roundabouts or multi lane junctions. Maybe you are moving over to an eletric vehicle and need to understand how they operate. Please call us for further information

 

New to driving in the UK

 

This course is ideal if you have learnt to drive in another country where driving is usually on the right hand side of the road and you do not feel 100% confident about driving in the UK. This course comprises of a theory session followed by on road practical training. This will cover a variety of roads including motorways where possible.

 

How many lessons?

 

All lessons and courses are designed around your individual needs and abilities. It is impossible to quote the number of lessons you will need until you have been assessed on your first driving lesson. Rest assured we will put you forward for your test as soon as you are fully prepared.

 

Pass Plus

 

Pass Plus is a six hour or more hours course with NO test at the end. The course can be taken when you have passed the Practical Driving Test and has many benefits.

The course is designed to advance the new driver to higher standard of driving than the very basic L test requirements. After completing the course, you will receive a certificate from the Driving Standards Agency which can be redeemed by a participating insurance company for a discount of up to 30% off your car insurance premium (equivalent to one year’s no claims bonus). The average amount of savings typically ranges from £350 to £1000
